Targeted Allele Detail
Symbol: Stat5btm2Jni
Name: signal transducer and activator of transcription 5B; targeted mutation 2, James N Ihle
MGI ID: MGI:3577898
Synonyms: Stat5ab-, Stat5A/B-, Stat5abdeltaN, Stat5deltaN
Gene: Stat5b  Location: Chr11:100780731-100850724 bp, - strand  Genetic Position: Chr11, 63.63 cM
Germline Transmission:  Earliest citation of germline transmission: J:77412
Parent Cell Line:  Other (see notes) (ES Cell)
Strain of Origin:  129
Allele Type:    Targeted (Null/knockout)
Mutations:    Insertion, Intragenic deletion
Mutation detailsThe first coding exon was replaced by a neomycin resistance cassette via homologous recombination in an ES cell line in which the first two coding exons of Stat5a had already been replaced with a hygromycin resistance cassette. This ES cell line was previously used to produce the Stat5atm1Jni mouse. The Stat5b targeting vector is the same one used to produce the Stat5btm1Jni allele. N-terminally truncated proteins are found at significant levels in the lymphoid lineage by Western Blot analysis (J: 122463). (J:77412, J:122463)
