Targeted Allele Detail
Symbol: Fn1tm2Feb
Name: fibronectin 1; targeted mutation 2, Francisco E Baralle
MGI ID: MGI:2655542
Synonyms: EDA-, Eda-Fn-, Fn-EIIIA-
Gene: Fn1  Location: Chr1:71585520-71653200 bp, - strand  Genetic Position: Chr1, 36.05 cM, cytoband C1-C5
Germline Transmission:  Earliest citation of germline transmission: J:84274
Parent Cell Line:  Not Specified (ES Cell)
Strain of Origin:  129X1/SvJ
Allele Type:    Targeted (Modified isoform(s))
Mutations:    Insertion, Intragenic deletion
Mutation detailsThe floxed genomic fragment containing a modified EDA exon was excised from Fn1tm1Feb via in vivo cre mediated recombination in the germline. RNase protection and RT-PCR analysis showed that while transcripts encoding other isoforms were transcribed from the mutant allele, the EDA exon was constituitively excluded in homozygous mutant mice.
