Targeted Allele Detail
Symbol: Gp5tm1Drp
Name: glycoprotein 5 (platelet); targeted mutation 1, David R Phillips
MGI ID: MGI:2652408
Synonyms: GP V -
Gene: Gp5  Location: Chr16:30307685-30310779 bp, - strand  Genetic Position: Chr16, 21.26 cM, cytoband B2
Germline Transmission:  Earliest citation of germline transmission: J:58516
Parent Cell Line:  RW-4 (ES Cell)
Strain of Origin:  129X1/SvJ
Allele Type:    Targeted (Null/knockout)
Mutation:    Disruption caused by insertion of vector
Mutation detailsThe entire coding region was replaced with a neomycin selection cassette inserted by homologous recombination. FACS analysis indicated an absence of the endogenous protein on the surface of platelets obtained from homozygous mutant mice. Western blot analysis of platelet lysates confirmed the lack of protein in homozogotes. (J:58516)
