Mutation detailsA 769 bp fragment encompassing exon 2 and flanking intronic sequence was replaced with a neomycin selection cassette inserted by homologous recombination. The translational start codon was included in the deleted region. Transcript was undetected by Northern blot and RT-PCR analyses of various tissues obtained from homozygous mutant mice. The absence of protein was indicated by flow cytometric, Western blot, and immunostaining analyses. S100A( and S100A8 proteins are not detected in peripheral leukocytes. (J:81642)
