Targeted Allele Detail
Symbol: Nfatc2tm1Srf
Name: nuclear factor of activated T cells, cytoplasmic, calcineurin dependent 2; targeted mutation 1, Edgar Serfling
MGI ID: MGI:2182770
Synonyms: NF-ATp-
Gene: Nfatc2  Location: Chr2:168476410-168601657 bp, - strand  Genetic Position: Chr2, 88.91 cM
Germline Transmission:  Earliest citation of germline transmission: J:45252
Parent Cell Line:  E14 (ES Cell)
Strain of Origin:  129P2/OlaHsd
Allele Type:    Targeted (Null/knockout)
Mutations:    Insertion, Intragenic deletion
Mutation details470 base pairs of exon 2 and approximately 400 base pairs of intron 2 were replaced with a neomycin selection cassette. The insertion of the neo gene removed a splice site and introduced stop codons into all three reading frames. Western blot analysis of splenocyte nuclear protein extracts confirmed the absence of normal encoded protein in homozygous mutant mice. (J:45252, J:110686, J:150931)
