Targeted Allele Detail
Symbol: Nodaltm1.2Rob
Name: nodal; targeted mutation 1.2, Elizabeth J Robertson
MGI ID: MGI:2181674
Synonyms: delta100.lacZ, delta100 nodal.lacZ
Gene: Nodal  Location: Chr10:61417972-61425338 bp, + strand  Genetic Position: Chr10, 32.21 cM
Germline Transmission:  Earliest citation of germline transmission: J:56145
Parent Cell Line:  CCE/EK.CCE (ES Cell)
Strain of Origin:  129S/SvEv-Gpi1c
Allele Type:    Targeted (Null/knockout)
Mutations:    Insertion, Intragenic deletion
Mutation detailsBy homologous recombination in ES cells heterozygous for the Nodaltm1Rob allele, 100 bp of the ASE enhancer region (including the two 10 bp binding sites) was replaced by a loxP-flanked hygromycin selection cassette in cis to the original mutation. Transient expression of Cre recombinase in targeted ES cells resulted in excision of the selection cassette, leaving a single loxP site in place of the enhancer sequences. (J:56145)
