Targeted Allele Detail
Symbol: Nodaltm1.1Rob
Name: nodal; targeted mutation 1.1, Elizabeth J Robertson
MGI ID: MGI:2181581
Synonyms: nodaldelta600.lacZ
Gene: Nodal  Location: Chr10:61417972-61425338 bp, + strand  Genetic Position: Chr10, 32.21 cM
Germline Transmission:  Earliest citation of germline transmission: J:77125
Parent Cell Line:  CCE/EK.CCE (ES Cell)
Strain of Origin:  129S/SvEv-Gpi1c
Allele Type:    Targeted (Null/knockout)
Mutations:    Insertion, Intragenic deletion
Mutation detailsBy homologous recombination in ES cells heterozygous for the Nodaltm1Rob allele, the entire 600 bp ASE enhancer region was replaced by a loxP-flanked hygromycin selection cassette in cis to the original mutation. Transient expression of Cre recombinase in targeted ES cells resulted in excision of the selection cassette, leaving a single loxP site in place of the enhancer sequences. (J:56145)
