Name: tumor necrosis factor receptor superfamily, member 11b (osteoprotegerin); targeted mutation 1, Edward A Clark
MGI ID: MGI:2179712
Synonyms: opg -
Gene: Tnfrsf11b  Location: Chr15:54114015-54141880 bp, - strand  Genetic Position: Chr15, 21.15 cM
Germline Transmission:  Earliest citation of germline transmission: J:67105
Parent Cell Line:  AK7 (ES Cell)
Strain of Origin:  129S4/SvJaeSor
Allele Type:    Targeted (Null/knockout)
Mutations:    Insertion, Intragenic deletion
Mutation detailsA neomycin resistance gene replaced a genomic fragment containing sequences encoding part of the signal peptide, the first two cysteine rich repeats and part of the third cysteine rich repeat. Northern blot analysis on total RNA derived from liver of homozygous mice demonstrated that a smaller transcript was expressed from this allele, but it is predicted to produce a nonfucntional protein.
