Cre mediated recombination was achieved by crossing Nodal^tm1Mku mice with transgenic mice expressing Cre under the control of the EIIa promoter. The recombination effectively removed the IRES beta-geo cassette, part of the 1st intron, the 2nd and 3rd exons, the 2nd intron and the 3'UTR of the Nodal gene. (J:73506)
