TS17: 1st branchial arch mesenchyme Present Regionally restricted 2Q , 2R Expression was detected in most, if not all Pitx2+(beta-Gal)+ cells in the mesodermal cores. Virtually all Tbx1+ cells were also Pitx2+.

TS17: 1st branchial arch mesenchyme Trace Regionally restricted 2V , 2U The labeled cell population was severely reduced in size, and the level of Tbx1 expression was only barely detectable.
TS17: 2nd branchial arch mesenchyme Present Regionally restricted 2V , 2U The immunolabeled second branchial arch population showed no significant difference between mutant and heterozygotes.
