Transgene
description
Transgene Type:    Transgenic (Inserted expressed sequence)
Mutation:    Insertion

Tg(Ckm-Ppargc1b)T37Brsp expresses 1 gene

Mutation detailsA transgenic construct containing the complete mouse peroxisome proliferative activated receptor, gamma, coactivator 1 beta gene cDNA, the 4.8kb mouse muscle creatine kinase promoter and the human growth hormone polyadenylation site was injected into fertilized FVB mouse eggs. Three lines were generated. Founder line T37 was subsequently established. Expression of Ppargc1b mRNA is increased 10-fold in the quadriceps, and transgene expression is higher in 'white', glycolytic muscle (EDL, quadriceps, gastrocnemius) than in 'red', oxidative muscle (soleus, heart).
