Mutation
description
Allele Type:    Targeted (Null/knockout)
Mutations:    Insertion, Intragenic deletion

Mutation detailsInsertion of a neomycin resistance gene deleted part of the exon encoding amino acids 22-95 in the catalytic kinase domain. The replaced region encodes a conserved lysine residue that is critical for the kinase activity of the gene. Western blot analysis demonstrated the existence of the mutant protein with a slightly smaller size that wild-type. RT-PCR analysis of kidneys identified the alternative transcript. (J:92102)
