Germline Transmission:  Earliest citation of germline transmission: J:90991
Parent Cell Line:  R1 (ES Cell)
Strain of Origin:  (129X1/SvJ x 129S1/Sv)F1-Kitl+
Mutation
description
Allele Type:    Targeted (Null/knockout, Reporter)
Mutations:    Insertion, Intragenic deletion

Mutation detailsThe entire 552 bp CDS encoded by exon 2 and 132 bp of the 3' UTR were deleted and replaced by an IRES-lacZ cassette and a loxP site flanked neomycin resistance gene cassette. In situ hybridization of heterozygous embryos show identical distribution of wild-type and mutant allele expression. (J:90991)

Notes
This mutation was determined to be allelic to both Fmn1ld-Is(17;In2)1Gso and Fmn1tm1.1Zlr through complementation analyses (J:91385). Transcription was not detected in the limb bud mesenchyme of either type of compound heterozygous mutant embryo. This allele is allelic to Grem1ld (J:91385) as well. In each case, compound heterozygous mutant mice display the mutant "limb deformity" limb phenotype.
