description
Transgene Type:    Transgenic (Inserted expressed sequence)
Mutation:    Insertion

Tg(KRT14-Prkca)115Akv expresses 1 gene

Mutation detailsA mouse Prkca cDNA tagged with bacteriophage T7 major coat protein at the N-terminus, and under the control of the human keratin 14 promoter, was used as the transgene. Human keratin 14 promoter sequences direct expression of the transgene in the basal epithelium. Western blot also detected expression of the transgene in thymus, ear, and eyeball of transgenic animals. Expression of the transgene was 8X that of endogenous protein as determined by Western blot analysis. Kinase activity of the transgene product was confirmed by PKC immunocomplex kinase assay.
