Strain A from H Gruneberg, University College, London, to Glaxo Laboratories, UK, in March 1942. Illegitimate mating of strain A mice at Glaxo Laboratories sometime between 1942-50 (Lindenmann J et al, 1963) followed by b x s mating. Should NOT be considered a substrain of A. Distributed mainly in European laboratories, and best known for its unique resistance to myxovirus (influenza) infections.
