Tg(NPHS2-icre/ERT2)1Dnsh - Renal & Urinary System
Recombinase Activity Detail
Allele Information
Allele:
Tg(NPHS2-icre/ERT2)1Dnsh
transgene insertion 1, Farhad R Danesh
Driver: NPHS2
Type: Transgenic (Inducible, Recombinase)
Inducer: tamoxifen
Synonym: podocin-iCreERT2
Molecular description: The coding sequences of (improved) icre and a tamoxifen-inducible estrogen receptor, ERT2, were fused in-frame and put under the control of 2.5 kb NPHS2 (human podocin) promoter region. The icre/ERT2 fragment was followed by the bovine growth hormone polyA (bGHpA) sequence. The linearized construct was microinjected into the pronuclei of fertilized C57BL/6 eggs. Three of four founders successfully transmitted the transgene to their offspring.
