This locus controls electrophoretic variation in group B pepsinogens. The s allele determines a single enzyme band in A/J, BALB/c, CBA/Ca, C57BL/6 and NZB; the d allele determines a double band in AKR, CBA/J, DBA/2, SJL and SWR. Heterozygotes have a double band.
