This locus controls an erythrocyte antigen specificity, Ea10.2. The b allele determines positive reaction for Ea10.2 in BDP/J, C57BR/cdJ, C57BL/6J, C57BL/10Sn, C57L/J, C58/J and PRO/Re. Other strains tested carried the a allele (absence of specificity).
