Using methyl 6,7-dimethoxy-4-ethyl-beta-carboline-3-carboxylate (DMCM), an inverse agonist of benzodiazepine, SWR was found to be less susceptible than CBA to DMCM induced seizures. The difference segregated as an autosomal gene, Dmc, distinct from the locus for caffeine susceptibility (see Caf).
