Mutation details: The transgene is designed with ~5 kbp mouse nestin promoter/enhancer sequences, a ~1.1 kbp modified herpes simplex virus thymidine kinase fragment (delta-HSV-TK), a ~1.3 kbp IRES-eGFP cassette, an SV40 polyadenylation sequence and a ~0.8 kbp mouse nestin intron 2 sequence. Thymidine kinase xpression is coincident with early hippocampal progenitors. The investigator reports that eGFP expression is observable by direct fluorescence and can be enhanced it with antibody staining.
