Transgene
description
Transgene Type:    Transgenic (Inserted expressed sequence)
Mutation:    Insertion

Tg(KRT5-IKBKB)1Armz expresses 1 gene

Tg(KRT5-IKBKB)1Armz expression driven by 1 gene

Mutation detailsThis transgene expresses N-terminal vesicular stomatitis virus (VSV) epitope-tagged human inhibitor of kappa light polypeptide gene enhancer in B-cells, kinase beta (IKBKB) under control of the 5.2 kb 5' upstream fragment of the bovine keratin 5 (KRT5) gene and a rabbit b-globin intron. Line 1 incorporated the transgene into an autosome. Immunohistochemical analysis using antibodies against IKBKB or the VSV epitope revealed expression of the protein in basal cells of the skin and of other stratified epithelia (e.g., palate and forestomach) and in hair follicles.
