Transgene
description
Transgene Type:    Transgenic (Inserted expressed sequence)
Mutation:    Insertion

Tg(Tyr-Th,-Gch1)6775Lmon expresses 3 genes

Mutation detailsThe mouse Tyr promoter was used to drive expression of a Th chimeric minigene composed of a mouse genomic fragment containing exons 1 and 2, rat cDNA containing sequence from exons 2 to 11, and mouse genomic sequence for exons 11 to 13. The Th minigene is deposited in GenBank as AY855842. An IRES element linked the Th construct to Gch1. Six founders were identified. Founder line 6775 contained four copies of the transgene and expressed the highest eye-specific tyrosine hydroxylase levels. (J:105984)
