Tg(APOE_i2*R158C)1Lmh expresses 1 gene

Mutation detailsA construct carrying an 11-kB genomic fragment containing the human APOE*2 gene and endogenous promoter, and the intergenic region between APOCl and the APOCl pseudogene, harboring the postulated liver regulatory element (HCR, hepatic control region), was used to create transgenic mice. The human APOE*2 mutation is characterized by a Arg158Cys amino acid substitution. Northern blotting analysis indicates that this transgene is expressed in the liver. (J:37473)
