This chromosomal inversion in the homozygous state results in neonatal lethality with dysmorphologies visible in the brain, eye and heart. Abnormal signaling in the limb bud leads to gross abnormalities in limb development for homozygous mutants. Polydactyly is seen in heterozygous mice.
