Chuk	Chr19:44061774-44095919 (-)	J:88854	Search for an Lfp1 candidate gene on distal mouse Chromosome 19 resulted in the consideration of Chuk (45 cM), a helix-loop-helix protein expressed in the hypothalamus. It is thought Chuk may play a role in the regulation of the circadian rhythm. Wheel running activity of heterozygous Chuk mutant mice was compared to wild type. No differences were found in the length of running activity time, angle of entrainment, or amount of running in constant darkness. Therefore, Chuk is not likely a viable candidategene for Lfp1.
