Notes
  • Experiment
An Hya epitope H-YDb is coded for by Uty. Southern analysis of male and female DNA clearly show a Y specific band present in males that is absent in females. In addition, the Y specific band was absent in XXSxrb mice indicating that Uty is located within a small region deleted in transposition Tp(Y)1Ct. These data were confirmed by PCR analysis using primers designed from an exon within Uty in which the predicted PCR product of 170 bp observed in XY and XXSxra mice was absent in XX female and XXSxrb mice.
