    Authors present data tentatively mapping Lyr3 in the region with the Igh locus on mouse Chromosome 12 using a series of CXS (C=BALB/cHeA; S=STS/A) recombinant inbred (RI) strains. Progenitor strain BALB/cHeA is highly sensitive to radiation-induced spleen cell death whereas progenitor strain STS/A is highly resistant. RI animals carrying BALB/cHeA-derived alleles at Lyr3 exhibit increased spleen cell sensitivity to radiation.
