Notes
  • Experiment
Microsatellite sequences were used as co-dominant markers to identify/map NOD mouse intervals containing recessive susceptibility alleles of insulin-related diabetes-associated genes. These intervals were transferred to C57BL/6, a resistant strain background, to produce 6 congenic strains. A gain of phenotype strategy was used in their construction. B6.NODc11 includes the Idd4 interval, mapped to Csfgm - D11Nds1 - D11Mit42 (over 42 cM on mouse Chromosome 11).
