    A panel of 19 somatic cell hybrids retaining a subset of mouse chromosomes in a rat or Chinese hamster background was used to determine the chromosomal location of Il3ra. PCR primers Il3ra-pC and Il3ra-pD were found to specifically amplify mouse DNA but not the host rodent DNAs. Complete concordance was found between the presence or absence of the PCR product in a given hybrid line and the presence or absence of mouse Chromosome 14. This data indicates that Il3ra maps to mouse Chromosome 14.
