Notes
  • Experiment
The authors performed PFGE analysis on Stock-Wsh/Wsh chromosomal DNA to physically map KitW-sh. Hybridization of Pdgfra probe3, Gabrb1 cDNA, Tec cDNA, and D5Mnl25 probe1 probes to Stock-Wsh/Wsh genomic DNA revealed altered fragments in DNA digested with several restriction enzymes. Additionally probes coresponding to loci detected at a considerable distance from each other detected altered DNA fragments of the same size. These results indicated that the KitW-sh mutation is likely to be achromosomal inversion spanning approximately 2.8 Mb and bringing together on the same large DNA fragments Gabrb1 and Pdgfra at the proximal side and Tec and Kit at the distal end, giving the following gene order: Gabrb1, Pdgfra, D5Mnl25, Tec, Kit.
