  Transgenic line OVE1B, when made homozygous, displayed a mutant phenotype shown to be allelic to dl on Chromosome 10. Probe A and probe B isolated from OVE1B genomic clones represent single copy sequences flanking the transgene insert Tg(m-aAcryst, SV40 TAg)OVE1. Somatic cell hybrids from fusions of Chinese hamster cell line TGA102a with mouse spleen cells (15 lines using B6C3F1 mice, 2 lines using Swiss mice) were analyzed on Southern blots using probe A and probe B. These probes displayed concordance with Chromosome 10 loci except in hybrid line TM9 which contained Pep2 as the only Chromosome 10 marker analyzed. This suggests that Hk1, probe A, probe B and Pah are proximal to Pep2 on Chromosome 10.
