  Male backcross mice from the EUCIB BSS panel that received a distal X Chromosome from C57BL/6 and a proximal Chromosome 7 from M. spretus do not carry a chloride channel 4 gene. This result supports the premise that Clc4-1 maps to the X Chromosome in M.spretus. The missing data is a consequence of the fact that M. spretus mice do not have a chloride channel 4 gene on the X Chromosome. The chloride channel gene Clc4-2 maps to Chromosome 7 in C57BL/6 mice.Offspring types indicate alleles inherited from F1 parent.
