Notes
  • Experiment
Two mouse strains with identical H2 haplotypes were used to identify a gene for susceptibility to small intestinal cancer on mouse Chromosome 4. 67 N3 tumor bearing mice from a (B10.O20 x O20/A)F1 x B10.O20 N3 cross were genotyped using 86 SSLP markers. Susceptibility is conferred by homozygosity of a gene from strain B10.O20. The highest chi-square value was obtained for D4Mit158 (67 cM) a locus for which only 3 of the 67 tumor bearing mice were heterozygous. D4Mit158 is located on distal Chromosome 4. Authors use symbol Ssic1 to represent the locus for susceptibility to small intestinal cancer.
