Notes
  • Experiment
Authors tested 97 adenomas (47 from C57BL/6-Min mice and 50 from AKR x C57BL/6-Min mice) for the presence of both Apc alleles - the normal and the Min allele. Without exception, the adenomas showed the loss of the normal Apc allele. Authors then tested in the F1 hybrid (AKR x C57BL/6-Min) 5 SSLP markers on Chromosome 18 (D18Mit19, D18Mit20, D18Mit24, D18Mit33, D18Mit4), which surround the Apc locus for the presence of the normal (carried by the AKR strain) or Min allele (carried by the C57BL/6 strain). All adenomas showed the loss of the AKR allele for the SSLP markers, indicating that Chromsome 18 was involved in the loss of the normal Apc allele.
