    136 (C57BL/6 x BALB/cJ) F2 mice were informative in mapping QTL Igmsc1 (Immunoglobulin M -secreting cells 1) to mouse Chromosome 13. Serum IgM levels were lower in C57BL/6 then in BALB/cJ. Igmsc1 mapped with a peak LOD score of 3.54 with D13Mit266 and the peak was flanked by D13Mit57 and D13Mit179.
    Authors present evidence suggesting Irf4 as a candidate for Igmsc1
