• Experiment
  Analysis of 25 lethal b mutations permitted the authors to map loci surronding the b locus. The b^11R30M deletion encompassed wi, D4Rck4 and D4Rck52 but not D4Rck140. It was determined that D4Rck140 is distal to b and D4Rck4 and D4Rck52 are proximal to b because D4Rck140 was absent in several b deletions that did not include D4Rck4 and D4Rck52. The deletion of D4Rck52 but not D4Rck4 in both b^34PSh and b^11PU demonstrates that D4Rck52 maps between D4Rck4 and b. The order of loci in the b region is Whrn,D4Rck4, D4Rck52, Tyrp1, D4Rck140, Adfp and Ifa.
