    Authors present evidence there is a gene (designated Smy) on the long arm of the Y Chromosome which is associated with the development of normal sperm. Mice carrying a deletion in the long arm of the Y show a 3.5 fold increase in abnormal sperm. Expression studies show a correlation between mice with the deletion and a marked reduction in pY353/B (a Y-specific probe) copies.
