    Morphine consumption was assessed in 606 F2 mice from a C57BL/6J x DBA/2J intercross. A subset of the 606 progeny were tested for QTL (quantitative trait analysis).

    QTL Mop3 mapped between D1Mit16 and D1Mit17 on Chromosome 1 with a lod score of 3.0.
    This QTL correlated with a small, but detectable decrease in the preference for morphine consumption.
