GeneAlleleAssay TypeDescription
Raly PFGE probe A
a Ay PFGE
Notes
  • Experiment
Using PFGE and restriction analysis, the authors were able to state both Raly and agouti probes hybridize to the same 280kb BssHII fragment. The 5' end of Raly is 280kb proximal to the 3' end of agouti and the two loci share the same transcriptional orientation. The Ay mutation is a 170kb deletion and includes most of the Raly gene except for the promoter and the noncoding first exon. The deletion starts approximately 12kb 3' of the noncoding first exon of Raly and terminates about 105kb 5' of the agouti gene.
