Experiment

Diabetes and insulitis were studied in (NOD x C57BL/10)F1, F2 and three (F1 x NOD) backcross generations. The data indicate that at least three recessive genes control diabetes in NOD mice, one of which is linked to the major histocompatibility complex (H2).
