Notes
  • Experiment
Flow sorted mouse chromosomes from plasmacytoma cell line X24C were used to demonstrate that the decapitated Myc gene, which is evident in reciprocal T(12;15) of X24C, is orientated such that Exon 1 of Myc remains on Chromosome 12 with exons 3 and 4 translocating to Chromosome 15. These results indicate that the 5' end of Myc must orientate towards the centromere on Chromosome 15. Authors also indicate that the Pvt-1 locus translocates with Myc to Chromosome 15. This provides evidence that Pvt-1 is telomeric to and lies 3' of Myc.
