  Mt-3 genes are coamplified with Mt-1 genes in cadmium-resistant mouse S180 and Hepa1A cells. This result suggests a linkage of these genes, because Mt-3 is not expressed in S180 or Hepa1A (data not provided). Human Mt-3 mapped by fluorescence in situ hybridization to Chromosome 16.
