    Chinese hamster x mouse somatic cell hybrids were analyzed. The one hybrid discordant between Chromosome 17 and Dpagt2 (EBS-15) did not show the 194 bp mouse-specific band following PCR amplification of its DNA. EBS-15 was positive for C3 and Glo1 located centrally on Chromosome 17 suggesting that Dpagt2 may be outside of this region.
    Subsequent mapping information in J:28043 show mapping of Dpagt2 to mouse chromosome 9. This is consistent with the mapping of the neighbouring genes Hmbs and Hist5-2ax tomouse chromosome 9. The human orthologs of these three genes also map to a conserved syntenic region on human chromosome 11.
