    Revised gene symbol: DXHXS144E, DXHXS253E (formerly DXPas6, DXS253Eh, respectively).
  • Experiment
Seven somatic cell hybrids were used to map Zfx. Six of the hybrids carried one product of an X-autosome translocation: G13n28 and G13n23 carried distal X [T(X;7)4Rl], B48c and B20c12 carried proximal X [T(X;16)16H], E11 carried proximal X [T(X;7)6Rl]. Hybrid VI/6 carried the entire mouse X Chromosome plus Chromosome 16. All hybrids except those carrying proximal X defined by T(X;16)16H were positive for Zfx. These data localize Zfx to the D-F1 region of Chromosome X between the T(X;16)16H and T(X;2)14Rlbreakpoints.
