  Reduced TAT mRNA liver activity in albino deletion homozygous c^3H/c^14cos mice was observed on RNA blots using mouse probe ES1.4. However, the structural gene for Tat was observed to map to the distal portion of Chromosome 8 (data unpublished) and notthis deleted region of Chromsome 7. In addition the Tat structural gene was present in somatic cell hybrids constructed between homozygous albino deletion mouse with rat cells.
