Notes
  • Experiment
Induction of leukemia by fractionated doses of x-irradiation is determined by a gene or genes on mouse chromosomes. Evidence for a two gene model was determined by analysis of CXB RI lines in which line CXBG was more susceptible then either progenitor and (C57BL/6 x BALB/c)F1 mice were less susceptible then either parent. (Parental strain C57BL/6 is susceptible whereas parental strain BALB/c is resistant to fractionated X irradiation induced leukemia.) Analysis of B6.C-H30c congenic mice show a cotransfer of resistance with H30. The current locus for H30 is assigned to Chromosome 15. Authors assign H30 and the susceptibility locus Ril1 to Chromosome 2.

10.19.2015 Curator Note: Because Ril1 was originally mapped in J:6610, in 1981 using
an (A/J x C57BL/10ScSn)F2 intercross, which differs from the mice used here, we consider the current study a separate mapping experiment and have named this QTL Ril4.
