Notes
  • Experiment
Mouse genomic DNA was digested with TaqI and probed for D17TU2 using clone 9.4.3. Two fragments were produced, the size of which depended on the strain used; five detectable patterns of hybridization were defined and designated a-e. All inbred strains ofhaplotype H-2k carry the c pattern, and all strains of H-2d carry the b pattern. The position of D17Tu2 could be determined by analysis of intra H-2 recombinants of H-2k and H-2d. There were five presented. These recombinants either had a c or b pattern depending on which part of the H-2 complex recombined. Analysis of two of the recombinant haplotypes provide evidence that D17Tu2 maps telomerically from the E-alpha locus and three recombinant haplotypes indicate that D17Tu2 maps centromeric to the D locus. These results suggest that D17Tu2 maps to the S region of H-2
