  Initial mapping by somatic cell hybrids indicated Ncam was on Chromosome 9 or 10 using eleven mouse x Chinese hamster hybrids and one mouse x rat hybrid. Ncam was determined on Southern blots of HindIII digested DNA probed with mouse genomic clone pEC501. Note that Xmmv-2 is correct gene symbol for gene designated Env-2 in this reference.

  Ncam scored on MspI digested liver DNA probed with mouse genomic clone pEC501. BXH RI strain -5 typed B for Lap1 and Apoa1.
