  • Experiment
The probe Marc, a 2.7 kb BamHI fragment of mouse clone cvv 5-50A, was used to identify the locus D17Tu5. This probe was hybridized to DNA from C3H/HeJ, BALB/cJ, R4 4-1, JS17, Chinese hamster and Syrian hamster. Line JS17 contains all mouse chromosomes except 17 and R4 4-1 contains only mouse Chromosome 17 and 18. The probe hybridized to C3H/HeJ, BALB/cJ, R4 4-1, but not to JS17, Chinese hamster and Syrian hamster. This pattern suggests that D17Tu5 is located on mouse Chromosome 17.
