    Somatic cell hybrids were from fusion of Chinese hamster cell line E36 and CMS4TG and MethA mouse sarcoma cell lines. Southern analysis was done on BamHI digested DNA using rat cDNA clone pSN63 to probe for Mpp. To rule out the assignment of Mpp to Chromosome 11, two rat-mouse hybrids, (F(11)J and FB(11)J), which contain only mouse Chromosome 11 were tested and shown to be negative for Mpp.
